The Student Alumni Gold Club is back in action with the spring semester underway! With the newly elected e-board assembled, normal business resumed with a closed-door meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
Kicking off at 6:00 p.m., over 20 new members attended the orientation and welcome meeting. With sessions ranging from attire and apparel to events and elevator speeches, students eagerly took on the responsibilities held by over 200 people before them. With the majority of new members entering the club as underclassmen, their philanthropic efforts will go a long way as they spend the next few years in the Ferris community.
As the semester continues, the 50+ member club is prepared to take on upcoming activities, including Philanthropy Day in February, President’s Boxes for hockey games, mascot handling, and Commencement and Alumni Association events.
On Dec. 10, the Alumni Association followed its Ferris State football team to Maryville, Missouri, to cheer on the Bulldogs as they battled the defending champions from Northwest Missouri State University during the NCAA D II Semifinal game.
Fans traveling to watch the game gathered around the Alumni Welcome tent and enjoyed a warm meal and some hot chocolate.
Parents of the players, Grid Iron members, students and other fans that made the trip, including the cheer team and Brutus, were greeted by Rick Rolf, Alumni Association Board Member. Although the team was unable to dominate on the field, the memories of the trip will last a life time!
