Dinner raised $54,000 for John Celestino scholarship, PGM students

Cascade Hills Country Club recently held a dinner with their membership to honor their former head golf professional, John Celestino, for his 50 years with the club. As part of the evening, they launched a campaign to raise additional funds for the John Celestino Endowed Scholarship at Ferris, to provide more scholarships for Professional Golf Management students.

The club established the scholarship fund with Ferris 25 years ago. Ferris President David Eisler, Ferris Board of Trustees Chair Paul Boyer, College of Business Dean David Nicol and several Ferris faculty and staff members were in attendance.

As a result of the dinner, more than $54,000 was raised from the Cascade Hills membership to support the scholarship fund. Celestino, his wife, Marsha, and son-in-law, Patrick, personally presented the check to President Eisler when they attended a recent Ferris hockey game.

The club plans to continue the effort over the next four years, to increase the endowment to support even more PGM students in the future.
